US Presidential election candidate's mobile websites 'lack savvy'

The last couple of presidential elections have seen a kick-start to social media and mobile use by mainstream business off the back of Presidential Candidate’s successful use of innovative techniques. Most obvious was the use of social media to fund-raise and spread a message by Obama in ‘08.

So, it’s interesting to note that this time around, candidates ARE ensuring their websites are optimised for mobile... but that they aren’t very good, as innovative as they could be, or make some pretty basic mobile marketing mistakes.

So far, the big political election in the UK this year (for the Mayor of London) doesn’t seem to have taken note. Both BackBoris.com and KenLivingstone.com remain firmly rooted to the desktop.
